The American Taekwondo Association (ATA) was founded by Eternal Grand Master HU Lee in 1969. The ATA is North America's largest Martial Arts Organization and the International Headquarters are in Little Rock, Arkansas. The ATA has over 1500 affiliated schools in over 22 countries and has over 350,000 members worldwide. In 1990 the World Traditional Taekwondo Union (WTTU) was founded by Grand Master to cover the majority of countries outside the US, with the exception of South America where they use Songahm Taekwondo Federation (STF). The vision and philosophy that Eternal Grand Master had when he first started is still an underlying foundation in all of these organizations.

Sunshine Ridge Taekwondo was started in 1995 by Mr. David Lister under the leadership of Master Scott Karpiuk. Sunshine Ridge Taekwondo has very successfully helped numerous students reach their goal of becoming a Black Belt, with some reaching beyond to the levels of 2nd and 3rd Degree Black Belt.
In June of 2010 the leadership of Sunshine Ridge Black Belt Academy was passed on to Mr. Timothy Millard, under the continued leadership of Master Karpiuk. Mr. Millard's vision is to continue to develop and train the Black Belt leaders of tomorrow.
